Say goodbye to your full screen VHS cassettes, and get ready for the widescreen world of 16:9 picture ratio. I was perfectly happy with my 36" full screen all 3 news articles »

I have an HDTV projector Panasonic PT-AX100U and a player Sony DVP-NC600 DVD. They are connected via composite video cables. However, when I try to play a widescreen DVD in the DVD drive, I get the mailboxes (black bars) at the top and bottom and left and right. When the cable HDTV to play, the image fills the screen, but not with the DVD idea? I want to connect a laptop, but I know it works because it works very well with the menu configuration cable TV, there is 4:03 Letterbox, 4:3 Pan & Scan and 16:9, which is the best option, or is it better to buy a DVD player just yet, and if so, what function I should consider?
Why not use the cable box wires connected to your DVD player’s component output jacks for a quick test? You may have to make some setting adjustments on your player via its setup menu such as selecting YUV component as opposed to composite/S-video.If you succeed in getting a full screen then why not just purchase an inexpensive set of RCA type cables and use your second component input on your TV if one is available.
